Harry Potter Trivia Night in Support of the Darlene Aikens Fund

July 27, 2018

The City of Pembroke is happy to announce that it has partnered with Family and Children’s Services of Renfrew County (FCSRC) to present a trivia fundraiser for the agency’s Darlene Aikens Fund.

On Monday, August 13th at 7:00 p.m., an evening of trivia based on the Harry Potter series will be held at Lasso Live. All ages will be welcome to join in the fun. Admission will be $5 per person for teams up to six members, with 100% of proceeds going towards the fund. “We’re excited to host this night and help children in the community while also providing another summer event in downtown Pembroke,” said Lasso Live manager Jordan Thibeau.

Since 1980, The Darlene Aikens Fund has assisted families across Renfrew County with sending their children on an organized summer camp experience. And this year, FCSRC is dedicated to building on efforts so the fund can assist local children and youth with other fun, educational and developmentally-centred activities, including sports, the arts and a wide range of personal interest classes. The Darlene Aikens Fund has been able to give over 200 kids and youth a camp experience each year and now the hope is it can help many more families across Renfrew County with important life-building experiences.

“We don’t receive funding to give local families referred to us help with fun and educational experiences like camp – which makes this partnership so important to us,” says Arijana Haramincic, Executive Director, FCSRC.  “We are continuing to receive more and more referrals each year and are very grateful for the generosity of Lasso Live, the City of Pembroke and the community for helping us give kids these opportunities.”

A wide array of prizing will be available to be won courtesy of the City of Pembroke, Lasso Live, Joes Family Pizzeria, and the Pembroke Mall.
