Family and Children Services of Renfrew County is committed to preserving services to families.
Today, members of OPSEU Local 459 are holding an “information picket” at Family and Children Services of Renfrew County offices. We share in our staff’s deep concern for preserving the valuable services we provide to so many families in our community.
“We never take these decisions lightly, and only ever decrease staffing levels when absolutely necessary,” said Kathy Davis, Executive Director of FCSRC. “We are committed to open and honest dialogue with our staff as we continue to address these financial challenges together.”
We are facing financial pressures this year, along with many other family services in Ontario. We anticipate that these pressures will increase in the coming year. In response to these pressures, we have had to make some difficult decisions, including recently issuing one layoff notice. As we continue to look for future cost savings, we are looking across our whole organization and examining staffing levels in both management and unionized positions, as well other areas where savings might be realized.
“We remain deeply committed to providing high-quality services to our community,” said Kathy Davis, Executive Director of FCSRC. “As we continue to address financial pressures, we want the community to know that we will always work to preserve the services we provide to families.”
